weight update

So, I didn't do so well with updating on a weekly basis about my progress. However, I have an update to give now.

So far, I've lost almost 20lbs. in this "biggest loser" competition. Through the use of the most totally awesome calorie counter ever, I've been able to keep much better track of what goes in to my body and keep it at a reasonable level.

A few other updates: I never made it to "pro" on any one of the Wii Sports games. I don't really love any one of those games well enough to play it enough to get to pro. Although, having said that, I think I'm in the 900s in golf. Dear BF bought me the Wii Fit anyway. I freaking love it. I don't think he's too disappointed, because I've definitely been getting good use out of it. We did, however, have to renegotiate the agreement when the Wii Fit arrived. He wasn't going to let me even try it, but the beautiful board was just sitting there, taunting me. So, after much whining on my part, we struck a new agreement and he let me open and fire up the Wii Fit. Yeah, it's pretty much the most awesome thing ever. I had said to Dear BF earlier that if someone was ever able to mix exercise with an RPG, that would be the only thing that would ever work for me. This gets pretty darn close. There's so many "games" (would you even call them games? They're real exercises...) I haven't gotten bored yet and I can play on the Fit for easily a half hour or more and not even really be thinking about it. In fact, there's enough that I could say about the Fit, maybe I'll just make another post about it.

The last thing I wanted to update on was that I've decided to start riding my bike to work. Not all the time (I often need my car to transport work-related items) but I rode my bike half way to work (long story) last week and then on Tuesday night, I rode it for 7 miles. It's only 8.2 miles to work and the 7 mile ride didn't really wear me out. I'm pretty confident now that I could totally do it. I might even attempt it tomorrow. I'm really lucky in that most of the ride is on this amazing trail that is paved and is meant exclusively for non-motored vehicles. The other morning when I got on the trail, I was thinking, "Well, this is going to take me approximately 3-4 times as much time to get to work, but look at all the birds!" It was pretty amazing commuting by bike. It's very much a more "real" experience than sitting in your car.
